The band that gave Mentos its 15 minutes of fame is back!! And this time they have scaled back sheer musical output, instead focusing their efforts hedging between rock and roll gems and sweet pea lullabies.

If you are like me and love when Grohl and the boys turn the amps up to ‘11′, you will be slightly disappointed in the musical direction.  More classic rock than Alt rock the Foo find themselves slowing down a bit in their golden years, leaning toward drawn out indulgences rather than powder keg singles.

All that aside, one thing the Foo Fighters have always been extremely good at is consistency. They have a distinct

sound that no matter what type of musical direction they choose to explore, ends up sounding like the Foo Fighters. For me, that is just like pizza……..even if it isn’t great, it’s still pretty darn good!

Check out “The Pretender”, “Let It Die”, “Erase/Replace”, “Long Road to Ruin”
