Recycled Recipes - EP

To start off, let's say I am no music snob, but to me it just seems that most of the songs covered here were better the first time around. That's not to say they are bad or don't merit a listen...much the opposite...but they just don't live up to the originals. Thus, a 3 star.

There are parts of each song that I enjoy more than the original and in general I am really into the soft, smooth style that Donavan strings together here. I just have a hard time swallowing these as better then the originals.  

I know I seem like I'm harping, but Mr. Frankenreiter (there will be no hot dog jokes in this column.....feel free to make your own) is biting off a lot by trying to cover CCR, Dylan and others in a single set.......a feat few other musicians would dare try much less get this close. 

If you're thinking of picking up a few of the songs I would suggest: 

"Fortunate Son"
"It Makes No Difference"

But, if you are just looking for good music overall and love the sound, you can't go wrong picking up the whole album.
