Story Of The Year - The Black Swan

Written by:Derek
Continuing the recent trend of less "screamo" and more traditional hard rock, Story Of The Year re-emerge with their third and best album. Named after Nassim Nicholas Taleb's "black swan theory" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_swan_theory), "The Black Swan" lives up to its name by delivering a cohesive collection of catchy, well constructed rock tunes that at least I wasn't expecting.

Chock full of buzz saw guitar, arena rock drums, and neatly placed harmonies that accompany a proper dosage of alt-rock vocals, this is caffeinated pop metal of anthemic proportions. I'm sure there is some sort of politically charged message these guys are trying to convey, but who is listening for that? This is simply too hook-a-licious (not to be confused with "bootylicious") to elicit any sort of action other than a good ol' fashioned head bang or impromptu dashboard karaoke concert.

Pop this on in your car, roll down the windows, and turn up the radio..... Autograph style!
